Lessie "Nita" McAdory

Lessie "Nita" McAdory, age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 27, 2026.

Beloved wife of Paul for 62 cherished years, Nita was a devoted mother to the late Kenneth Paul, Mike (Amy) McAdory, and Paula (Justin) Dempsey. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Cody (Amanda) McAdory, Kourtney McAdory, Madison (John Forrest) Sisson, and Nicholas (Ellie) Dempsey, and a treasured great-grandmother to Levi, Walker, Annie, Elizabeth, and Olivia.

Nita was a dear sister to Paul Richard Goodin and Ricky (Clara) Goodin, and a loving sister-in-law to Douglas (Gloria) McAdory. She was preceded in death by her siblings Bennie (the late Mary) Goodin, Kat (the late Cecil) Robinson, Bruce (Judy) Goodin, Gene (Lois) Goodin, Patsy (the late Carroll) Perry, and Mary Jane (Homayoun) Soufi. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

On January 3, 1968, Nita and Paul became the proud owners of Travis Coffee Shop. Nita's warm smile and natural charm greeted everyone who walked through the door, making each person feel welcome and at home. She was widely loved and respected and served as the backbone of the restaurant for many years.

When she wasn't hard at work, Nita enjoyed spending time at the casino and playing a good card game, always bringing laughter and joy to those around her.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 2 in the Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky Calloway officiating. Visitation for Nita will be Wednesday, April 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi; as well as Thursday, April 2 from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Mt.Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater, Mississippi.

Serving as pallbearers are Cody McAdory, Nicholas Dempsey, John Forest Sisson, Bennie Goodin, Stan Goodin, Brad Goodin, and Brent McAdory. Honorary Pallbearers are Donald Ray Parker and Bud Maxey. Nita's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and community will live on in all who knew her.
