Rolene Young Holley

Rolene Young Holley, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29 at Campground Church with Bro. Wesley Donald and Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the church from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Campground Cemetery.

Rolene was born January 23, 1937, to J. T. and Fannie Dewease Young, and lived a life centered around faith, family, and service to others. A lifelong member of Campground Church, Rolene's faith guided her every step. She was an avid reader-especially of her Bible-and found joy in quiet moments with a good book. She was talented with a needle and thread, enjoyed sewing, and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She lived a life marked by hard work and determination. Over the years, she served her community in many roles, working as a realtor, insurance agent, and telephone operator. Later in life, she returned to school to become a nurse, fulfilling a calling to care for others. Throughout her marriage, she was also the devoted bookkeeper for her husband's business, supporting him faithfully in all their endeavors.

Rolene is survived by her daughter, Donna Holley Barnett of Carthage, MS; her sister, Artie Jo Dorris of Jackson, MS; and her former daughter-in-law, Wanda Holley. She is also survived by extended family members, Becky Waddell and Wilson Young, who held a special place in her heart. One of her greatest joys was being "Grandmother" to her grandchildren: Zachary Barnett, Dr. Hope Holley Durst (Don), Hamp Holley (Emily), and Sloan Holley, as well as her four great-grandchildren, whom she adored: Mary Hampton Durst, Maggie Durst, Coy Durst, and Hope Douglass Holley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Leroy Holley; her son, Danny Holley; her parents; and her sister, Wahweece Harrington.

Serving as pallbearers are Alan Young, Craig Swain, Hamp Holley, Sloan Holley, Tim Smith, Wilson Young. Memorials in honor of Rolene may be given to Campground Cemetery Fund, c/o Becky Waddell, 3080 Young Crossing Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
