Lester G. Anderson, age 90 of Albert Lea MN, passed away Saturday February 15, 2025 at Mayo's Eisenberg Care Center in Rochester.

Les was born May 31, 1934, to Gehard and Bernice (Nelson) Anderson. He graduated from Bricelyn High in 1952 and, shortly after, proudly served in the U.S.Army. He married Lois Katzung in July of 1957 and together they raised three children, Bradley, Douglas and Nancy. Les drove delivery truck for Motor Supply and Sears for many years, and was especially fond of driving school bus, transporting teams to sporting events, and driving motor coach for Albert Lea Bus Co.

He was a proud and active leader of the Boy Scouts of America, The Harmony Junction Barber Shop group (singing tenor), Kiwanis, American Legion and Salem Lutheran Church. Les was known for his joyous spirit, infectious laugh, wonderful sense of humor, unwavering kindness, and endless supply of funny stories. He enjoyed time with friends and family, dancing, camping, traveling, sports and spending time in his wood shop. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Les is survived by his wife Lois Anderson, son Douglas Anderson (Scott Eastman) of Golden Valley MN, sister Bonnie (Gordy) Weum of Cottage Grove MN, brother-in-law Larry (Hildy) Katsung, son-in-law Larry Lahs of Albert Lea MN, granddaughter Tara (John) Bates of Austin MN, great-grandson James Bates and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents Bernice and Gerhard Anderson, in-laws Melvin and Maleta Katzung, sister Eileen (Anderson) Krinke, son Bradley Anderson and daughter Nancy (Anderson) Lahs. The funeral honoring Les will be Friday February 21 at 11 am, preceded with visitation at 10 am. Both will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, followed by fellowship in the church basement. Interment is scheduled to occur at a future date at Fort Snelling.
