While we both worked at the Y, he and I were close friends and he had a hand in developing so many youth programs. Whether a new craft center with professional kiln, campsite improvements for Day Camp, creating space for NYPUM (youth mini-bike program), voluntarily serving as a supervisor on teen adventure trips (canoeing in Michigan) , along with our executive director building a 22 rifle range in basement, setting up pool tables in youth game room, leading a table tennis tournament and the list could go on.
Over the years I had a few brief conversations with Buzz and unfortunately lost touch many years back. I grieve that. Most folks, I think, may have missed what a servant's heart he had and I feel very blessed that I was able to share that part of his life on many occasions. He was a private man in many ways but more than anything I remember him as a dedicated father, youth advocate and loyal friend. He impacted so many young lives in so many ways. He will be missed.

I have fond memories of Les. He assisted me with FHS Softball in the late 80's, and we ran into each other many times on the softball circuit. Les was very dedicated to teaching the game, and game many young people their introduction to the game. I even recall Les' father helping run Findlay Youth Baseball when I was a kid. A great family legacy from the Bowman family to the local kids.
