Lester Bradley Obituary

Lester D. "Bud" Bradley, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 1, 2026, at Demaree Crossing in Greenwood. He was a longtime resident of Greenwood.

Bud was born on September 4, 1934, in Franklin, to the late Scott and Mary M. (Noel) Bradley. He was a 1952 graduate of Union High School and retired in 2000 after a 36-year career as a machinist and toolmaker with Diamond Chain Company, Hamblin Gauge, and Westinghouse Air Brake Company, all in Indianapolis. Bud was a proud member of the United Steelworkers Union, Local 1262, Indianapolis.

Bud enjoyed collecting antique firearms and recreating old-time miniature railroad towns. He meticulously handcrafted the buildings, people, and landscapes for each of his towns. In his younger years, Bud enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, and driving his Jeep. He was also a fan of classic western television shows and listening to country music.

He is survived by his children, Sherry (Robert) West of Morgantown, Lynda (Britt) Dickinson of Morgantown, and Jon (Janice) Bradley of Greenwood; his companion of 29 years, Linda Carnicom of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Rachel Dickinson of England, Jill Bradley of Greenwood, and Amanda Dickinson of Franklin; two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Christabel Dumas of England; and the mother of his children, Martha Findley of Morgantown.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, February 5, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Meredith Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Burt Brock officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bud's memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 681405, Indianapolis, IN 46268.

Bud was such a sweet and kind man. I had the pleasure of caring for him and he will always be a favorite. I still carry the buckeye he gave me in my work bag every day. Prayers for all the family
