Lester R. Geckle
CONTINENTAL - Lester R. Geckle, 62, of Continental, passed away at 6:27 a.m., Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born May 18, 1963, in Allen County to the late Clarence and Betty (Strawser) Geckle.
Survivors include five siblings: Bonnie Moore of Continental, Carolyn Ludemann of Continental, Irene (Shorty Nunez) Geckle of Cloverdale, Norman (Julie) Geckle of Continental and Laura Stiles of Jacksonville, FL.; and a sister-in-law, Judy Geckle of Findlay.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by six siblings: Francis Geckle, Barbara Geckle, Richard Geckle, Ronnie Geckle, Rita Geckle and Connie Geckle; and two brothers-in-law: Leroy Moore and Rick Ludemann.
Lester had worked for Cooper Farms, Oakwood. In his early years, he enjoyed fishing. He was an artist who loved drawing and coloring.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2026, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor Chuck Schmunk officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
