Dear, Rich, Nora, Helen, Evie and family:
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Rich's father George!
I only had the good fortune to meet him once in Natick in 2006. He was so easy to talk to, and he was very easy to like!
Even though I didn't see him, Rich kept me up to date on what he was doing, and later, it was updates on his health!
I really thought I knew George, but then I read his Oni, and now I wish I could ask him so many more questions about his very interesting life.
George had many accomplishments, but his number one priority was always his family!
Please know that Anne and I are thinking of you during this difficult time! A day will never pass without you thinking of your Dad, fortunately he gave you so many wonderful memories!

I am sorry to hear that George has passed, but deeply grateful for a life well lived. George was a first-rate teacher and scholar, a generous colleague, and a thoroughly decent, good man. Lunch with George was an event, replete with conversation on a range of topics, wry observations, and occasional challenges, all delivered with good humor. I consider George a friend, and if he thought the same of me, I am honored. My sincere condolences to Shelley, George“s sons and daughters-in-law, his grandchildren, and his many friends and colleagues.

We are so sorry to hear this. George Geckle was one of the USC English Department's great ones. I am grateful to have known him since coming to USC in 1991 and offer my sincere condolences to Shelly, Geordie and Mary, and the rest of the Geckle family. May his memory be a blessing to all of us.
