Lester Hembel Jr Obituary
Lester "Chuck" Hembel, age 83, of Elton passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025 under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice.
Lester was born on November 1,1941 in Milwaukee to the late Lester and Mamie (Witt) Hembel.
He was employed as a ship fitter for Bay Ship Building for 30 years in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
Lester retired to the Elton area where he enjoyed nature, hunting, fishing, birdwatching, rides in the side by side and living in the woods with his beloved wife of 33 years, Pamela.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Pamela his children Patricia Hembel, Crystal Heil (Ashley) of Antigo and Eric Engerson of Sturgeon Bay, sisters: Carol Blise, Joanne Kimber, Sandra Raynier, 6 grandchildren: Jamie, Ivy, Ellie, Bianca, Cory, Anthony, and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by sons: Lester Hembel III and Glenn Hembel, a grandson Luke, a great granddaughter Olivia, 3 sisters: Elean Weckler, Donna Rodney and Darlene Rore and a brother Darold.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
