With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lester M. Hinners, who left us peacefully on December 7, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on January 20, 1934, to the late Roy and Ella (nee Hartman) Hinners.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Lester served his country aboard the USS Toledo, where he formed bonds that would last a lifetime. Upon returning home, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a machinist at Cincinnati Milacron, where he worked diligently from 1953 until his retirement in 1996.
Lester was a devoted family man. He was known for his warm spirit and infectious laughter, always ready to share a lighthearted joke that brightened the days of those around him. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he found joy in every moment spent with them.
An avid trap shooter, Lester embraced his hobbies with passion. He proudly collected Hot Wheels cars and relished the satisfaction of refinishing furniture. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed playing cards and formed lasting friendships with the local community, often seen at Rothman's corner store in Newtonsville, where he enjoyed gathering with friends.
Lester was the beloved husband of 67 years to the late Ruth A. Hinners (nee Mohler); Loving father of Douglas (Sharon) Hinners and Darin (Teresa) Hinners; Dear grandpa of Sabrina Seamon and Jacob Hinners; Great-grandfather of Alice Sells. Along with his wife and parents, Lester is preceded in death by his siblings Kenneth Hinners, Nelda Hinners, Mary Hinners, and Leo Hinners.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home - 741 Center St, Milford, OH 45150. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial to follow at Plainview Cemetery in Wayne Township.
