Lester C. King, Jr.
YORK - Lester C. "Buddy" King, Jr., 87, entered into rest on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at York North Nursing & Rehab.
Born May 7, 1938 in Harrisburg, Lester was a son of the late Lester C. and Marie E. (Shauck) King.
He was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School, York. He also participated in several gatherings of local writers held in private homes and Martin Library!
Buddy was a talented writer who was acknowledged for his gift in a story published in the Gazette. He enjoyed going fishing in the Chesapeake Bay with his father and family. Buddy also attended stock car races at Susquehanna & Lincolnway Speedways to support his father, who raced car #63.
Buddy is survived by five siblings, June M. Trotta(Mark) of York, Carolyn C. Bemiller(Kenneth) of Dover, Sandra K. Doll(Robert, Jr.) of York, Richard J. King(Gloria) of Dover, and Ronald R. King of Dover. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Marlene King; a brother, Kenneth E. King; and a niece and nephew.
Following cremation, services will be at the convenience of the family with burial in Dover Union Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. in Dover.
