Lester Nicholson, 66, of Seneca, SC, husband of Deborah Annette (Abney) Nicholson, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning August 28, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in Ward, SC and the son of the late Isaac and the late Sallie Mae Nicholson. He attended the public schools of Saluda and Aiken counties at Ridge Hill Elementary and Ridge Spring-Monetta High School.
Lester is a combined, 27-year U.S. Army and Army Reserve Veteran. His Army career consisted of deployments to South Korea, Germany, and Somalia and Gulf War One. He also served 10 years in the Army Reserve. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and watching Gamecock sports with his family. Lester received his Associate Degree in Computer Technology from Tri-County Technical School in Pendleton, SC.
Surviving, in addition to his loving wife Deborah of nine years, are sons Lester Maurice (Marlo Nicole) Nicholson, Travis Lamont Nicholson, Freddie Alonzo Wells, Laterian Jamal Porter, Steven Lyle Nicholson, and daughter Dallas Shanea (Timothy Joseph) Yoshida, step-son Lealon Jarrett Gabbidon and grandson Jaden Maurice Nicholson. He is also survived by sisters Annie Pearl Lott, Jeannette Abner, Evangeline (Tommie) Williams, brothers Jasper Jeff Nicholson and George James Robinson, in addition to a host of in-laws, nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces; as well has his godchildren Toccarra Corinne Martin, Braxton Xavier Gambrell, Katrina LaCrista Rahshaan Gambrell.
Lester is also predeceased by wife, Harlanette Anne (Wentland) Nicholson, and former-wife Ida Mae (Attaway) Nicholson. They both were the mothers of his children.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, September 2nd at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, SC.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel inside Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, SC at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3rd. Burial with military honors will follow at Memory Gardens in Central, SC.
