Lester Henry Solecki, age 83, died on August 13, 2025, at his home in Boynton Beach, Florida. He fought hard to cure his cancer but sadly lost.

Les is survived by his wife Gloria, of 55 years, his daughter Laura Peterson, his son Robert Solecki, and his two grandsons, Ethan and Grayson (the children of Laura Peterson), and his sister Josie Deverin.

Les was born September 23, 1941 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to parents Henry and Caroline. Les had two sisters.

Les served in the U.S. Army from 1964 through 1966 in the U.S. and in Germany. He was listed as an expert with rifles and received a National Defense Service Medal. After the Army, Les graduated from The University of Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

Les lived and worked in New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and Florida during his lifetime. Les worked with Carter Wallace, a pharmaceutical company, in New Jersey and Puerto Rico, in management positions for much of his career. In Puerto Rico, Les was the manager of pharmaceutical factories in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico (1972) and in Humacao, Puerto Rico (1977 to 1990).

His interests and hobbies were crossword puzzles, trivia, golf, visiting local wildlife refuges, attending local art fairs, attending music concerts and plays, eating out at restaurants, watching various types of programs and movies on TV, working on house maintenance projects, and landscaping in his yard.

A Memorial Ceremony is scheduled for Les on September 23, 2025 at 12:30 pm at the Veterans Administration South Florida National Cemetery at 6501 FL-7, Wellington, Florida 33449. Family and guests attending the ceremony must arrive at Lane 1 at the cemetery by 12:15 pm. The military process for the ceremony is on a tight time schedule. A motorcade will lead the family and guests from Lane 1 to an outdoor pavilion where the Memorial Ceremony will occur. The Ceremony will last 30 minutes.

After the Memorial Ceremony, guests are invited to join Les's family at a nearby restaurant that will be determined the day of the ceremony.

Donations on behalf of Les can be submitted to the Veterans Administration.
