On October 13, 2023, God called Lester Raymond Spangler, Jr. to his heavenly home. He was met at the pearly gates by his beloved wife Barbara, his mother, Mary Webb Spangler and his father Lester Raymond Spangler, Sr. Lester spent his life in the United States Air Force, serving our country during the Vietnam era. He loved serving his country so much, he retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service. Through many hardships and grief, he held his head high and walked tall and proud. In the last few months of his life, he lived in Pleasant Garden, NC with his cousin Melinda Sizemore and her family. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Lester leaves behind a son, Keith Spangler, a daughter, Christine Wise, a grandson, Waylon, two stepdaughters, Karen Harbin and her husband Brian, Laura Ward and fiancé, Andy Nix. Also, two dear step grandchildren, William Holman and John Harbin, both of which he loved dearly. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 1:00pm at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 4 - 6pm at Forbis & Dick Funeral Service, Pleasant Garden Chapel, 4601 Pleasant Garden Rd., Pleasant Garden, NC, 27313.
