Leta J. Kates was born in Weatherford, Texas, August 5, 1932, to Charles Edward McDonald and Mabel Arlene McDonald. She was preceded in death both parents, Husband Archie Kates, and son Robert Kates,. And all 10 of her siblings
She met and married the love of her life, Archie Kates. The couple decided to raise their family, a son and two daughters, in the Kansas City area.
Leta and Archie loved to travel. And they did so as often as they could. Leta also enjoyed spending time with family, and she absolutely loved her grandchildren.
Leta Departed this life October 29, 2025, at Foxwood Springs nursing facility in Raymore, Missouri. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by daughters Sharon Sharts (Terry) and Brenda McQueen (Tim), nine grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends
