The Funeral Service for Mrs. Leta M. Thomas Thompson will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John AME Church in Plains, Georgia.

Mrs. Leta M. Thomas Thompson, affectionately known as "Pokey", was born on April 18, 1971, in Plains, Georgia to the late Woodroe Thomas, Jr. and Mamie Lee White Thomas. Pokey was a wife and mother that loved her family. Her family meant everything to her. On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, God called her home.

She is survived by her husband, John Thompson; her daughters: Keshia (Melvin) Davis, Ava Thompson, Toria and Mike Johnson and D'Adrea Thompson; her sons: Arthur Peavy, Waylon Thompson, Brandon Thompson, and Christopher Thompson; her brother, Stanley Thomas; five sisters: Barbara Anne Green (Willie) of Americus, Georgia, Dorothy June of Rivera Beach, Florida, Beverly Jackson of West Palm Beach, Florida, Bernice Caldwell of Griffin, Georgia, and Meshia Williams (Lawrence) of Plains, Georgia, who was her devoted caregiver; two aunts: Lillie Height of Americus, Georgia, who was also her devoted caregiver, and Annie Ross of Plains, Georgia; devoted friends: Flora Murphy of Plains, Georgia and Denise Holmon of South Carolina; her sister-in-law, A.B. Jackson of Plains, Georgia; two brothers-in law: McArthur (Zanda) Thompson and Warren Thompson; several other relatives and friends also survive.

To the family of Leta i want to send my sincere condolences she was my bestfriend i loved her dearly and i will miss her dearly. We known each other since elementary school and remained bestfriend every since. I love all of yall and will continue to keep yall in my prayers.
