Charley C. Thompson

Charley C. Thompson, 66, passed away at 8:29 a.m. on Saturday February 7, 2026, at Our Hospice surrounded by family and friends. He was born July 14,1959 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He later moved to Indiana where he lived for the rest of his life. Charley was a former member of the United States Navy. He was an avid Nascar fan. He loved spending time with his grandson and found happiness in being the family prankster. He had a gentle soul and loved animals of all kinds. If asked about his favorite pastime it was definitely sleeping in his recliner. He is survived by his daughter, Lacey (Michael) Leavitt of Nineveh and Sarah Thompson (Jones) of St. Louis: his sister Meri Beth Chasteen of Mitchell and a grandson, Oliver Wichlacz of Nineveh. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Stephen Paul Clyde. Following his wishes he is being cremated, and no services are scheduled at this time. Bass and Gasper Funeral Home in Westport has been entrusted with the arrangements.
