Levator Booth Obituary

Mr. Levator Booth Sr. was born December 11, 1931 in Ozan, Arkansas to the proud parents of Elsie and Edna Booth, both preceded him in death. His wife, Rosie L. Booth and his daughter, Renita F. Braxton also preceded him in death.

Levator accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois where he was a Deacon and a member of the Church Choir. Levator was a veteran of the United States Army from 1951-1954 and served in the Korean War Conflict. During the Korean War, Levator was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operators against the Enemy on August 25, 1954. He was a graduate of Clow High School in Clow, Arkansas, Class of 1950. Levator was a faithful employee of the Bevco Manufacturing Company until he retired in 2001.

Levator met and fell in love with his soulmate, Rosie L. Booth. They were wedded on May 16, 1955. He loved attending church services and outdoor activities. He loved barbecuing, camping and especially fishing. The family vacation trip to Sanddrift Resort in Wisconsin Dells in August was a special vacation place that he really enjoyed.

Levator stepped from this life into eternal life on Monday, February 23, 2026. He leaves to cherish his fond memories; two sons, Levator Booth Jr. of Chicago, Illinois and Ronald E. Booth of Milwaukee,Wisconsin; one grandson, Royce Braxton Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana. Levator had five siblings; two sisters, Ola L. Patterson of Tehachapi, CA and Mary Nunerley of Dallas, Texas, both preceded him in death; three brothers, Elmer (Pete) Booth of Chicago, IL, Henry Steward of Nashville, Arkansas, and Joseph L. Booth of Chicago, IL, all three brothers preceded him in death.

Extended family; Allison, Robin, Gloria, Reketia Stanton of North Aurora, IL; Bennie J. Smith of Louisville, KY, Stephanie Adkins of Chicago, IL, Tom and Wendy Matzen of Wauwatosa, WI, Ed Hayward of Chicago, IL, John Harris of Dolton, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special family friends, Barbara Cole, Dorothy Adkins and the Christian Hope M.B. Church family.
