Tyronda Hunter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Minor-Morris Funeral Home, Ltd. on Feb. 25, 2026.
Tyronda R. Hunter was born on November 19, 1962, the fourth of five children. She departed this life suddenly on Friday, February 20, 2026.

Tyronda accepted Christ at an early age at Mars Hill Community Church of God in Christ in Joliet, Illinois. She later attended New Canaanland Christian Church, also in Joliet. She graduated from Joliet East High School, Class of 1979, and continued her education at Joliet Junior College.

Tyronda dedicated many years of service to Rockwell, where she worked as an assembler. She was widely known for being the fastest assembler on the line, consistently ensuring products moved through efficiently with skill and precision.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Tyronda made her children the center of her world. She was a pillar of her community, always extending a helping hand and treating everyone like family. She had a passion for crocheting and lovingly made blankets for children and the elderly. Known as a "human calculator," she could quickly compute numbers in her head and was always quick with her hands. She enjoyed grilling, spending time with her family, and caring for her beloved dog, Lady.

Tyronda was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria and Uarl Hunter; her two sisters, Annetta Gray and Katrina Edwards; and her son, Uarl Hunter.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Tawanda Hunter; four grandchildren, Aleria and Damarian Cunningham, and Karter and U'Riyah Hunter; her sister, Nichelle Hunter; her brother, Calvin Griffin; her special aunt, Rita Cole-Jones; her special nephew, DeAndre Hunter; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
