I was a neighbor of Lew. A few years ago we met often in the gym downstairs; he was indeed a kind and generous soul who served on our building“s board. We shared a love of tennis and he was a delightful man to talk to. I had run into him and knew he had been ill but have just found out he passed away. My condolences to his loved ones.

I thought of Lew today because we shared a birthday. I looked him up and found out about his passing. I worked very closely with Lew for many years at J&H. He hired me. I am so sad to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathies to all his family and friends.

Lew and I met at Navy Supply Corps School in 1969. We both served as Supply Officers on Gearing class destroyers in San Diego and Viet Nam. (Mine was the Richardson B Anderson DD-786, very similar to the Hamner.) Later we were roommates at HBS where we played a lot of bridge together. Lew was WAY, WAY better!

He was loved by everyone who ever met him. I will cherish his memory.

My sympathies to all the family.

Dear Carole, so very sorry to hear of Lews passing. After graduation, I worked as Mr. Dawson's secretary at CHS. Lew was always such a gentleman and bright young man. He always had an infectious smile and was very respectful of others and his surroundings. Enjoyed having him stop in office. Sending love and hugs to you and family.
