Lewis Franklin Bennett, age 90, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family. He was born in 1933, to the late Jody and Annie Mae Bennett. He was a great Papa and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family. Lewis was a loving husband, father, Papa, great grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Alpharetta, GA. Lewis enjoyed, fishing, riding his golf cart and collecting matchbox and hot wheels cars. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Harrison, and brothers, Hayward and Hugh Bennett.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, DeEtte Bennett; children, Vickie (Larry) Jones, and Lamar Bennett; grandchildren, Denton (Amy) Vaughan, Whitney (Andy) Duran, Jordan Nicholson, Michael ( Marinell) Jones and Tony (Megan) Jones; great grandchildren, Halie Vaughan, Riley Vaughan, Kaylie (Drew) Brannon, Tyler Dover, Savannah Dover, Austyn Duran, Linkyn Duran, Maesyn Duran, Valerie Jones and Meridian Jones; siblings, Ernest Bennett and Jerry Bennett; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Robert Chapman, Rev. Wayne Truitt and Rev. Denton Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
