Lewis Douglas Davis

Lewis Douglas Davis, 92, of Albemarle, peacefully passed on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Atrium Health Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

Doug was born November 16, 1933 to the late Lewis Theodore Davis and Annie Maude Davis. He is preceded in death by sisters, Nancy Joyce Thompson, and Sylvia Eudy, as well as brother, Kenneth Davis. Survivors include wife of 72 years, Peggy Chandler Davis of Albemarle, two sons of New London, Mike Davis (Tanya), Barry Davis (Teresa), and daughter, Ranee Hewett (Alan) of Fountain Inn, South Carolina. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening and was known for the beautiful German Johnson tomatoes he grew and shared for many years. He worked in textiles and enjoyed telling “mill” stories and describing life as he then knew it.

A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor James Valk of Albemarle Wesleyan Church will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 1:45 pm, followed by a brief service at the church.
