Lewis R. DeMeo (83), passed away on September 17,2025 at Ellis Hospital. Lewis was born in Schenectady, New York to the late Ralph and Angelina (Garofalo) DeMeo.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Saglimbeni) DeMeo, his son Michael DeMeo, his daughter Cara Demeo, his sister Marlene DeMeo and his grandchildren Mia Jones and Luca Nieves. Lewis served in United States Army and traveled to Korea, he worked for NYS Dept of Social Services for over 30 years.

Lou was a selfless person, he did everything he could to help friends and family out and was always present for his grandkids. “Butchie” (his nickname) enjoyed his daily breakfast with his best friends, greeting everyone at his daughter’s dance studio with conversation and smiles. Nothing gave him more joy than watching Mia dance on stage or countless arm wrestling with Luca. He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course & casino. He looked forward to time spent with his son watching horse races and vacationing at his son’s place in CT. He was deeply loved and loved deeply. He has touched many lives and will forever be missed.

A visitation will be held September 26th from 5-7PM at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY 12306, followed by a funeral service at 7PM.
