Lewis LeRoy Hathaway (Lew) came into this world so excited, he couldn't even wait to get to the hospital, born on December 15, 1938 at-home in Chester Idaho, to Claudia Margaret and Delbert Earl Hathaway. He was the fifth of seven children, six boys one girl. From a young age, he was taught responsibility by growing up and working on the Family Farm, getting up at O-dark- 30 to milk cows and whatnot, a life filled with Adventure as you can imagine. He graduated from South Fremont High-school in 1957, and served in the US Army, Army Reserve, and National guard as a Combat construction specialist and wheeled vehicle mechanic from 1956 until 1962 earning an Honorable discharge.
From all 3 in 1963. He married Karla Gould in December of 1960, together they had 3 children Devin, Korey, and Lark. They divorced in 1974, and in October of that same year he married Linda Mower, and she came with a bonus son Jon. Together they had 1 son, Daniel. Lew was an avid bowler, and started out bowling in high-school and never stopped until last year when his health would no longer allow him. He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America for most of his adult life, and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served with his wife Linda for many years in the Special Needs MIA, and also he enjoyed being a bowling coach for the Special Olympics, and had served on 3 different bishoprics. He was preceded in death by his parents Delbert and Claudia Hathaway, brothers Lamar, Hathaway, Theodore (Ted) Hathaway, Murlan Hathaway, sister Cora May Smith, wife Linda, and 2 grandsons, Tregory Martinez, and James Scoleri.
He is survived by his brothers Ralph (Jan) and Arlo (Vicki), 5 children, Devin, Korey (Michelle), Jon (Alicia) Scoleri, Lark Hathaway-Billmire, and Daniel, 19 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Lewis has been entrusted into the care of Myers Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Friday March 6th at 1pm at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 N Monroe Blvd in
Ogden, UT with a celebration of Life to be held At a later date. Lewis has been entrusted into the care of Myers Mortuary of Ogden.
