Lewis Robert Patterson, age 81, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at his home. Mr. Patterson was born on March 24, 1944 to the late William Robert Patterson and Lou Vada Watkins Patterson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Walter Patterson, James Patterson, and Johnny Patterson; sisters, Edith Norton and Jewel Dale.
He is survived by wife, Mary Patterson; sons, Wesley Patterson, Darrin Patterson, and Davell Patterson; sisters, Lois Worley, Evelyn Gilliland, and Shirley Boatfield. One grandchild also survives, Brandon Patterson.
Lewis was a man that believed in working. Honesty was a very important virtue in his life. Mr. Patterson enjoyed picking and singing. He developed a love of Gospel music and the songs of faith proclaimed in those songs. His Christian faith was strong and experienced by all around him.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Cochran-McDaniel funeral home in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Rev. David Mashburn and Rev. Craig O'Neal will be officiating. Music will be provided by Pat Mashburn.
The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers; Jeff Harris, Jeff Barfield, James Gilliland, Lyn Patterson, Jay Carroll and Brian Hannah; Ray Norton will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Interment will follow the service in the Chastain Memorial Park in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
The family will be receiving friends for a time of visitation on Saturday evening, September 13, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
