Lewis Phillips

Lewis Phillips, 67, of Blue Springs, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025. A man whose greatest joy in life was his wife and daughters, Lewis lived each day with love and unwavering dedication to all those he cared for.

Born on June 26, 1957, in Greenville, Mississippi, to Jimmie Lewis and Maydeen Phillips, Lewis was the eldest of four children. Much of his early life was spent between his home in Greenville and his second home in Vaiden, where he spent quality time with his grandparents. Over the years, Lewis enjoyed countless good times in Vaiden hunting, fishing, and having fish fries with family and friends.

Lewis met the love of his life, Pam Phillips (Pritchett), one night on the levee in Greenville. One of his favorite stories to tell was the time Pam made a U-turn in the middle of Washington Avenue when she spotted him with friends after he failed to show up for a date. And the rest is history. Lewis and Pam enjoyed 47 years of marriage; she was the light of his life.

In addition to his marriage to Pam, his proudest role in his life was being the father to their two daughters, Ashley and Lorrie. Lewis was a devoted father who worked tirelessly to provide for his family and filled their home with love and lots of laughter. From the sidelines and concession stands of soccer fields, cross country meets, and track meets, Lewis was the biggest fan and number one supporter of his daughters, never missing a single event: from sporting events to band performances and everything in between.

Lewis will always be remembered as a loyal friend and father and master of the grill. He enjoyed cooking for his family at home and his friends at the hunting camp, and those meals, fellowships, and laughs with him will be sorely missed.

Lewis is survived by his beloved wife, Pam; his daughters, Ashley Fortner (Shane), and Lorrie Harrell (Hannah); his mother, Maydeen Lee; his sister, Tammie Hudgins (Kerry); his sister-in-law, Shirley Phillips; his aunt, Bobbie Ruth McBride; and many nieces and nephews.

Lewis is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Lewis Phillips; his brother, Jimmy Gregory Phillips; and his grandparents.

Visitation will be 1 until 4 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Pegues Funeral Directors, 535 W. Jefferson St., Tupelo, MS 38804. All friends and family are welcome to stop by and share memories and celebrate the life of Lewis Phillips.
