Liara Tsai Obituary

Liara Kaylee Tsai

Nov. 27, 1988 - June 21, 2024

Liara Kaylee Tsai (born Thomas Omar Stavlo) formerly of Mauston, WI was tragically taken too soon on the evening of June 21, 2024 while residing in Minneapolis, MN. Liara was born on November 27, 1988 in Pratt, KS to parents, Omar and Linda.

She graduated from Mauston High School in 2006. She then served in the United States Air Force, being stationed at Davis – Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ. She continued her studies with Carleton University, specializing in crisis in conflict mediation.

Liara found her ultimate calling in being able to express her amazing talents and humanity through her love of music as a DJ on the techno scene with FemmeDecks. Liara's talent awarded her many opportunities to play venues around the country, gaining her notoriety and popularity. Liara also created that forum to use as an open door to help others struggling. Through her kindness, love, and values many have benefited.

Liara's light will be deeply missed by her beloved dog, Ein; her brother, Eric (Melissa); sister, Kari (Steve); sister, Kristen (Brian); nephews: Zachary, Hayden, Hunter; and a community of countless friends she called family. She is proceeded in death by her father, Omar, mother, Linda, her paternal grandparents, Richard and Helen Stavlo, her maternal grandparents, Virgil and Margie Scott, and her nephew, TJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in care of Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, WI for Liara's care and funeral expenses.

A celebration of Liara's beautiful life will be announced at a later date.

My first memory of Liara was at work in our end of shift time where our team would just spend time to connect with coworkers. She was so warm, inviting, and brought Ein with her into the space. Liara and I got to know each other through these connection times and I'm really grateful that I had the opportunity to know her. She was such a bright light.

I only knew Liara through an online community, but she was such a bright spark of light and life and love. The world is darker without her in it.

The last time I saw her I told her I was going to cut her hair so I could staple it to my head. A beautiful person inside and outside.

Just her openness and her cheerfulness!! Planning my wedding and wanting her to be my maid of honor and being the DJ as well. She´ll be greatly missed.

She grew up down the street from me, she was a friend of my brother. She dropped a giant pickle jar on our basement floor. I haven´t seen her in decades, but I´m so glad she got to become her true self, and she was obviously deeply loved by her friends and community.
