Librada Mendoza, 74, of Dumas, died on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Librada was born on April 26, 1951 in Falfurrias, Texas to Andres and Eva Mendoza. She grew up in the Rio Grand Valley and had been a resident of Dumas the past thirty years. She had worked at Rosa’s and the Pecos Diner. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Andres Mendoza Jr.; a sister, Irma Mendoza; and two grandchildren, Sergio Moreno and Princess Svenningson.
She is survived by three sons, Joe Lee Svenningson, Eddie Svenningsen, and Juan Eli Svenningsen, all of Dumas; two daughters, Mary Ann Svenningsen of Dumas and Hope Martinez and husband Guadalupe of Brenham, Texas; and cousin that she raised like a son, Andrew Masias of Michigan; four brothers, Thomas Mendoza, Martin Mendoza, Larry Mendoza, and Gilbert Mendoza, all of California; two sisters, Adelicia Mendoza and Mary Mendoza, both of California; ten grandchildren, Alexis, Sasha, Hope, Jae-Love, Nat, Genoveva, Tyler, Nathan, Juliet, and Romeo; and great grandchildren, Zanida, Aiden, Arian and Emerson.
