Lidia (Ansara) Assali

Lidia (Ansara) Assali, 85, of Worcester passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Lidia was born March 10, 1939, in Aita, Lebanon, the daughter of Michael and Badeha (Dabaghe) Ansara. Raised educated and married in Lebanon, she immigrated to the United States more specifically California with her husband Andrew. Then shortly after Andrew passed away in 2010, Lidia moved to Worcester to be closer to family. 

 Lidia is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Three sisters, Mary Rizkalla, Leah Peters, and Minerva Houssan, and two brothers, Andrew and Deeb Ansara all predeceased her.

 Lidia was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral. She loved to cook Lebanese delicacies, ensure her home was warm and welcome, and to dress impeccable. She was a kindhearted soul who most enjoyed being with her family during the holidays, family special occasions or family gatherings.

A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, September 12th from 10 to 11 am followed by her funeral service in St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street. The Very Rev, Milad Selim will celebrate. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the St George Orthodox Cathedral endowment fund, 30 Anna Street Worcester 01604.
