Lidia Maria Checo was a loving Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend born November 17, 1948. She was a devoted Mother and friend and migrated to the US from the Dominican Republic at the age of 17.
Lidia was a perfect mother who cared deeply for the well-being of her grandchildren - Veronica, Christopher, Alanis, Amanda, and Blake.
She would always share stories of her childhood in the Dominican Republic and her passion for sewing dresses for dolls. This passion would later carry on throughout her young adult age in NYC. While aspiring to be a fashion designer in the Big Apple, she managed to take on the role of crafting fashion design through fashion shows and custom women's bridal and evening wear.
Lidia loved to cook, was a devoted friend, and was a true believer in teaching the love of Jesus Christ. A loyal, dedicated, and caring friend. she will forever be remembered for her beautiful heart, kindness, and gentle soul.
May you forever rest in peace as you will in our memories and in our hearts, your daughters Elizabeth, Orisbel and Jessica.
. Her family will be present to receive friends on Saturday December 30, 2023 at the Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway at the Corner of 214th Street located at the Inwood Section of Manhattan From 4-8 PM.
