Lihue Mayhan Obituary
Lee grew up in Arkansas and graduated from North Little Rock High School. He enlisted with the United States Navy in 1959 where he faithfully served his country. He was deployed to Japan and Hawaii during his time in the service. Lee loved his country and was proud to serve with the Navy.
Following his time in the service, Lee moved to Los Angeles, California and began a career as a machinist for several years. He then returned to his home state of Arkansas and was employed as a dump truck driver for a construction company.
On March 5, 1971, Lee was united in marriage to Aletha Kemp. Together they faced life's challenges and made many wonderful memories.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Nellie Mayhan; his sister, Betty; three brothers, Chris, James and Randal; and an infant son, Lihue, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost fifty-five years, Aletha, of Lebanon, Missouri; his daughter Betty Reynolds and her husband Michael of Lebanon, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher.
In 1991, Lee and Aletha moved to Lebanon, Missouri where Lee worked for Tracker Marine and Copeland. He later worked for Leland North at North Farms. He enjoyed being outside and working on the farm was a good fit for him.
Lee found joy in hunting and fishing. He was also very fond of his truck and tractor and had a loved for animals.
Lee was many things to many people. Most importantly he was a husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed and his memories will stay in the hearts of those he loved.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville.
A memorial to Claws and Paws has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
