Lila Ruth Strubble

The Strubble family has been All Shook Up by the departure of matriarch Lila Ruth Strubble nee Cline on March 14, 2024, in Tallahassee, Florida. Devoted daughter Terry Strubble was by her side as the two went their Separate Ways.
The youngest surviving child of 11 born to Walter V. and Susan J. (Jones) Cline, Ruth made her debut into the world on January 8, 1931, in DeKalb, MO. On her fourth birthday, her favorite entertainer was born, but this isn't about that Hound Dog in the Blue Suede Shoes. This is about the Little Sister who often lamented her departed siblings William "Floyd", Bessie, Opal, Ray, Rose, Anna, Robert, Walter "Pete", Omer and Betty.
In her early teens, Ruth attended a dance in Kansas City, Missouri, where she found that one Can't Help Falling in Love with Big Hunk O' Love Lawrence Strubble's dance moves. As a prison guard, Larry's Jailhouse Rock took them to various locations across the country before finally calling Tallahassee, Florida the Green Green Grass of Home. Eventually Ruth and Larry traded in their dancing shoes for bingo cards, where Ruth excelled, often playing nearly a dozen cards at once.
Ruth and her Teddy Bear Larry's Burning Love yielded four children: Lawrence "Butch" (Kathy), Mike (Louise), Terry and Jeff (Melanie); five grandchildren: David (Stephanie), Kelly (Will), Matt, Natalie (Micah) & Daphne; and three great-grandchildren William, Monroe & Lila.
Leaving her survivors solace in Heartbreak Hotel is the belief that Ruth will be joined by Larry, Butch and Matthew on her path to Return to Sender. There will be no Crying in the Chapel for the family as we celebrate Ruth's life on April 9 at 10 AM at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
