Mrs. Lillian B. Gernert

Mrs. Lillian B. Gernert, 82, beloved mother, sister and aunt, of West Penn Township, Tamaqua, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Miners Memorial Campus, Coaldale. She was the widow of Ronald P. Gernert Sr., who died on Nov. 20, 1996.

She worked in the textile industry for many years.

Born on Monday, June 22, 1942, in West Penn Township, she was a daughter of the late Deyman and Messida (Lorah) Hamm.

She was a graduate of Tamaqua High School.

A devout member of Zion Stone Church of West Penn Township, Lillian enjoyed tending to her home and cutting grass.

Surviving are son, Ronald P. "Butch" Gernert Jr., with whom she resided; a sister, Mabel Smith; brothers, Larry Hamm, and his wife, Kay, Johnny Hamm, and his wife, Jeannie, and Jesse Hamm, and his wife, Marie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by a sister, Elaine Sterner.

Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, Zion Stone Church of West Penn Township, 45 Cemetery Road, New Ringgold, with the Rev. Russell Campbell officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Monday in the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert S.
