Lillian Jones Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder's Memorial Gardens, Inc. - Gray on Feb. 6, 2026.
Lillian Jones, 93, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 16, 1932, in the humble town of Ducktown, North Carolina, Lillian was the daughter of the late Elijah and Gussie Gladson Burger. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Joe Jones and her son-in-law, Sidney Allen.

Lillian is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Allen and Judy Lofty (married to David), who remember their mother as a guiding light in their lives.

Lillian's joy was multiplied by her beloved grandchildren, Casey Kilby (Jeff), Lara Doss (Josh), and Hunter Lofty; her great-grandchildren, Khloee Doss, Jeremiah Doss, Keilyn Lofty, and Kairyn Lofty.

Having grown up in Dalton, Georgia, and moving to Johnson City, Tennessee, over two decades ago, Lillian remained an active and cherished member of her community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devout member of Boone Trail Baptist Church, having previously served in fellowship with Harmony Baptist in Dalton, Georgia.

Lillian's passions extended beyond her spiritual devotion; she was an avid baker and a master of the garden. Her kitchen was a hub of activity, where the aroma of her famous pies often wafted through the air. Outside, her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, with blooms that mirrored the beauty she brought into the world.

A committal service to honor Lillian will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Music will be provided by Josh Doss and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Boone Trail Baptist Church. https://www.boonetrail.net/give
