Lillian "Lin" Byers LaGrange, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on October 8, 1942, in Mississippi, Lin spent her life nurturing her family and community with love and kindness. She was the cherished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Byers and was preceded in death by her late husband, Bob LaGrange, her parents, and her daughter-in-law, Karen Castille Lyons.
Lin's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She is survived by her two sons, John Wayne Faul and his wife Janice, Dwight Faul and his wife Sherry, as well as her two daughters, Monica Lopez, and Dianna Deen-Alston. She took great joy in her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren: Joshua Faul and his wife Amy, Caleb Faul and his wife Alyssa, Gavin Faul and his wife Britni, Martha Devillier, Celecia Meadows and her husband Troy, Angelica LeJeune, and Danielle Sonnier. Additionally, Lin leaves behind many great-grandchildren who were a source of immense pride and happiness in her life.
For over 40 years, she was a devoted member of Point Church where she served as the New Life Director. Lin welcomed all new members with open arms, hosting Bible studies and teaching the principles of Christian living. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her church family provided her with a network of love and support that she cherished deeply.
In her spare time, Lin found joy in coloring and cherished conversations with her friends. The time she spent with her family and church community brought her immense happiness and fulfillment, and her spirit will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
Lin's memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Point Church located at 800 S. Main St. Church Point, La. The memorial service will be officiated by Bishop Rick Pavlu, and Pastor Jared Pavlu.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Children's Church at Point Church in honor of Lin's commitment to her faith and community.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at Acadia St. Landry Nursing Home and Hospice of Acadiana for their love and compassionate care during Lin's final days.
