Our loving and caring mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the age of 87. Lillian was born on February 20, 1936, to the late Frank and Delia (Dining) Moore in Pine River, Michigan. She married Edward J. Pieniozek in Standish, Michigan on May 21, 1955. They celebrated 55 years of marriage. Lillian graduated from Saginaw Valley College, now known as Saginaw Valley State University. receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught kindergarten for 17 years at Garfield Fraser elementary school, in the Pinconning school district. Over the years, Lillian touched and enriched the lives of so many people, not only as a schoolteacher, but by volunteering. She served on the board of directors for 7 years at Brian's House; was Co-Chair for their first golf outing, consultant one year and chairperson the remaining five years. She enjoyed sewing hats for the Mittens from Masons and making face masks. She was a salesclerk at the Economy Center and volunteered at the Bay City Players Club.
Lillian is survived by her children, Lorri, Mark (Cindy), Carrie (Jim) Miller; three grandsons, Brandon Pieniozek, Jonathon Miller and Clark (Rebecca) Menough a sister, Karen DeLong, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents, Frank and Delia, her brother Clifford (Dorothy) Moore, sisters, Shirley (Raymond) Frank and Virginia (Louis) Hagley.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, Kawkawlin, Michigan with Chaplin Don Killey presiding. Lillian's family will greet family and friends, on Sunday July 9, 2023, from 2:00 – 8:00 pm, at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, Kawkawlin, Michigan. On Monday, friends may visit from 10 am until time of service. Private Entombment will take place at Calvary Mausoleum.
