Leon Rose

Leon Rose, 91, a native of Tennessee, longtime resident of Yorktown, Virginia, and recent resident of North Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022 at his home with his loving son by his side. Leon was retired from the Air Force and the Newport News Shipyard. He enjoyed many years after retirement working around his yard, taking walks, woodworking, reading western novels, volunteering at church, and spending time with his friends and family. On family beach vacations, one of his greatest joys was walking the beach in search of treasures such as shells and shark teeth. He always had a sparkle in his eye when he was with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he greatly loved.

Leon was preceded in death by his wives "Tee" Rose and Barbara C. Rose, his parents Curtis and Isabella Rose, his brothers Uzell, Clarence, Carl, Jerry, and Wayne, and his sister Doris.

He is survived by his sons Barry Leon Rose and Sean Firman Rose, and his daughter Judith Mas'Sey, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Parklawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
