Lillian Torres Obituary
Lillian Torres, 78, of Newark, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026. Born in San German, Puerto Rico, Lillian came to Newark, NJ in the early 80's, and worked as a lunch assistant for Kiddie Korner in Newark. She is survived by her children Ronald Soto and his wife Mary Lorenzo-Soto, Roberto Espinosa and his wife Gisela Martinez-Espinosa, and Jessica Espinosa; her sisters Lydia Cotty and Maria C. Ruiz; four grandchildren Matthew Espinosa, Justin Espinosa, Nathaniel Soto, and Aiden Mateo; and four great-grandchildren Honoir Espinosa, Savier Espinosa, Zenaida Espinosa, and Niko Soto. She was predeceased by her grandson Brian Espinosa, and her siblings Ramon Gonzalez Torres, Elba Cuevas, Lorenzo Gonzalez and Carlos Gonzalez Torres Gonzalez.
Lillian dedicated her life to being the heart of her home and family. Her greatest joy was found in simple moments: a crowded kitchen table, family gatherings, going to the casino, playing bingo and cards while listening to music. Known for her unconditional love, sharp wit and laughter, she left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She taught us that family isn't just blood; it's about showing up, listening and loving without reservation. She will be missed immensely.
The funeral will at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, N.J.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 12:00PM – 3:00PM with cremation to follow.
