Lillian Gray Tuttle

Lillian Margaret Gray Tuttle, age 83, of Elizabeth City, NC, died at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. She was born in Pasquotank County, NC on September 18, 1942, to the late Pat O'Bryan Gray and Bertha Mae Cartwright Gray, and was the wife of William Albert Tuttle, her husband of 64 years. They were married on November 23, 1961. Lillian was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, loved to read, and worked as a bookkeeper for an insurance agency until retirement.
In addition to her husband, William, she is survived by a daughter, Melinda Culver (Bobby) of Elizabeth City, NC; a son, William Bryan Tuttle (Laura) of New Bern, NC; three sisters, Marie Gray, Martha Pierce (Bobby), and Janet Lemly; two brothers, George Gray (Velma) and Charles Gray (Faye); four grandchildren, Corinne Weatherly (James), Kaylin Shields (Rob), Breann Hubert (Steven), and Joshua Tuttle; and seven great-grandchildren, Eddie, William, Christopher, Titus, Levi, Addison, and Carson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Gray.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
