Clara Elain Youmans

Clara Elain (Aukland) Youmans Moyock - Clara Elaine Aukland Youmans, age 88, of Moyock, NC, died at her home on Saturday, March 7, 2026. She was born in Seattle, WA, on May 28, 1937, to the late Oliver Aukland and Margaret Munday Aukland, and was the widow of Orville L. Youmans, Sr.

Clara was a member of Pilmoor Memorial United Methodist Church, an avid card player, a member of the Knit Wits, and a wonderful dancer with her husband as her partner. She was notoriously frugal with herself and graciously generous with others. She had the memory of an elephant and the heart of an angel. She was inviting and easy-going to all who had the opportunity to know her, and she knew no strangers. Clara loved her family, cherished her church family, and treasured her dear friends.

Clara is survived by a daughter, Cynthia A. Youmans of Barco; two sons, Orville "Sonny" Youmans, Jr. and wife Cindy of Barco, NC, and Brian Youmans of Moyock, NC; a grandson, William Kevin Youmans; two sisters, Betty Gasfield of Port Townsend, WA and Phyllis Ferris of St. Louis, MO; and a brother, Alan Aukland of Tacoma, WA.

A funeral service to honor Clara's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Pilmoor Memorial United Methodist Church, 192 Courthouse Road, Currituck, NC, with Pastor Josh Tester officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church.
