Lillian Welcome Obituary
Born on December 20th, 1939, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Lillian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Lillian was a well-known member of the community through her years as the Inn Keeper at the Peg Leg Inn and her service through the Rockport Garden Club. Lillian was a radiant soul who enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling with her husband and friends, and spending time surrounded by family.
Lillian leaves behind her dear husband Robert H. Welcome. Lillian and Robert met while working at Union National Bank of Lowell Massachusetts in 1955, and married on October 29th, 1960, celebrating 65 years of marriage prior to her passing. Lillian was a loving mother, survived by her four sons Michael Welcome, Daniel Welcome, Patrick Welcome, and Kevin Welcome. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Sean Welcome, Megan Lucido, Robbie Welcome, Curtis Welcome, and Marlin Welcome. In addition, Lillian held dear to her heart the blessing of eight great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Lucas, Everlee, Levi, Kinslee, Lillian, Lyla, and Adelaide. Lillian is predeceased by her mother Irene E. Plourde, her father Joseph L. Plourde, and her brother Robert Plourde.
Visiting hours will be held at the Greely Funeral home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Wednesday, February 4, from 9:00 - 10:30a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Joachim Church, 56 Broadway, Rockport, at 11a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Dear Bob and family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on Lillian´s passing. I did not have the honor of knowing her personally, but I know how devoted you were to each other and how deeply she will be missed.
I am especially grateful for the kindness Bob showed me when I first came to the United States, and I hope the many lives you and Lillian touched will bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Aunt Lillian. She was always a beauty with a beautiful heart. She was just so sweet. I always loved you and Uncle Bobby together with your boys., Many a Christmas Eve was not complete
Till you and your boys all appeared at Mom and Dads house.
We had many visits to Rockport in the early years. You always had your boys and were busy with the Inn but you always took time to sit with us for a visit. Sorry uncle Bob for your loss. She will surely be missed. Another Angel to look over us . Love you Auntie.
