Lillie Akridge Obituary
Lillie retired from the Polk County School Board, where she worked proudly for 27 years in Food Service. She was a lifelong member of New Home Baptist Church. She is best remembered for her love of family, food, friends, and fun - a woman whose laughter and warmth lived in every room she entered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lee Akridge, and her second daughter, Debbie Darlene Akridge.
"Granny" is survived by her two sisters, Betty Ford and Jane Barrett; her first daughter, Julie Williams; and by her Grand-Family: Danielle DeConcilio-Starling, Bradley Starling, Lillie DeConcilio, Jennifer Kirsch, Michael Kirsch, and Hannah Kirsch.
A graveside service will be held at New Home Baptist Church, 901 N Galloway Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810.
Saturday, December 6th at 9 a.m.
To honor Lillie Laverne's memory, the family invites you to visit your local nursery and plant a Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow plant or a Poinsettia- something living and beautiful, just like her legacy.

I just learned of Laverne´s passing. I am so sorry for all the family and their loss. I met Laverne when I was 16 and became her hairstylist. That relationship lasted for 45 years. Many of her family became clients and friends as well. She was a beautiful soul with a sincere smile! I will miss my friend

I'm so sorry to hear she passed. I met her when I was 14, at Seth McKeel Middle School. My fourth period class was working in the lunchroom. She was always so kind to me. We kept in touch over the years and she was still the same. The world truly needs more like her. For those who knew her, she will be greatly missed. For those who didn't know her, you missed out on a truly good peson. We love you and will miss you. The world will not be the same!

I will miss her sweet smile and her welcoming embrace. Lillie was always so much fun to be around and easy to talk to. I would leave a visit with her thinking bright, happy thoughts and thinking how lucky I was to know her. I will miss her greatly, but I know she is up there with the angels, smiling down on all those she loved. I hope she knows how much she meant to me as a friend. May God bless her family whom she was blessed to have, as they were blessed to have her. Love you, "Granny".
