Lilly Chambers Ellis

Lilly Chambers Ellis, 91, of Roman Eagle Health & Rehab Center, Danville, VA and formerly of Roxboro, died Sunday, January 11, 2026. Born in Person County, Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of the late Harvey Yancey and Martha Elizabeth Dickey Chambers, wife of the late Sylvester Lowery and mother of the late April Jo Ellis. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charlie William Chambers and two sisters, Mary Frances Ellis and Louise Zumer. Mrs. Ellis worked at Four Acre Warehouse and was a caregiver. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by four children, Harvey Yancey Ellis (Sharrell), Trudy Gunter (Jackie), Roy Keith Ellis (Luanne) and Clyde Brinkley Ellis, Jr. (Michele); two brothers, David Carlton Chambers and Joseph Robert Chambers; two sisters, Ann Dodson and Peggy Hall; seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Honoring her wishes, services are private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
