Lilian Moreno Demara, affectionately known as Lily, a cherished matriarch, and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 13, 2024, just shy of her 96th birthday. Born on February 18, 1928, in Santa Ana, California, she spent her lifetime nurturing a family that loved her dearly and participating actively in the lives of those around her. Lily's final days were spent in Orange, California, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.
Lily's journey began as a bright-eyed girl in El Modena, where she grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Orange High School. It was there she met her beloved Daniel Demara. The high school sweethearts' love blossomed over two years, leading to a marriage that was filled with devotion and mutual respect. Together, they celebrated over 56 years of marriage until Daniel's passing in 2004. Lily was a cornerstone of strength and love, not only for Daniel but also for their growing family.
The Demara family tree flourished with Lily at its roots. She is survived by her devoted son, Ronald Demara and his wife Caridad, her adoring grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Kenneth, Dana, and Michael, and her precious great-grandchildren, Alaina, Gabriella, Bryce, Kayla, and Raelyn. Her legacy further extends to numerous nieces and nephews who all experienced her boundless love. Lily was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Demara, and her two sons, Daniel J. and Scott, who she carried in her heart every day.
Lily's life was marked by her unwavering faith and selfless spirit. As a homemaker, she poured her love and care into her family, creating a warm and welcoming home. Once her children were grown, she continued to serve others as a dietician at a local hospital, where her nurturing nature was a comfort to many. She was a woman of simple pleasures, finding joy in the laughter of her family, the company of her sisters, and the quiet moments spent in faith and reflection.
Her hands were rarely still, as she delighted in cooking and cleaning, always ensuring that those she loved were well-fed and comfortable. Lily's lemon meringue pie was legendary, a symbol of her culinary love that will be deeply missed at family gatherings. The pendants she wore, graced with the pictures of her grandchildren, were a testament to her pride and the joy they brought to her life.
Lily's life was a tapestry of love and faithfulness, a narrative of a woman who gave of herself generously and without expectation. Her legacy is defined by the love she shared and the lives she touched. Those who knew her will remember a loving, faith-filled, and selfless woman whose presence was a blessing and whose memory will be cherished.
As we bid farewell to Lily, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by compassion and kindness. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Lily's story does not end here, for she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.
Lilian Moreno Demara's life was a testament to the beauty of simple, unconditional love, and the power of a life dedicated to family and faith. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

I remember being a little girl, living next door. When I eould go visit with my mom she had beautiful teacups under the coffee table on a shelf. I loved them so much because they were so dainty and pretty. Sge was kind enough to let me hold one and won my heart ever since. She had the best laugh and such a gleaming contagious smile!
