Linda Claire Forbes Baker, a cherished daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Chesterfield, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 9, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, Linda's presence was a radiant light that brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

Leaving behind her beloved daughter, Katie (Scott) Retzlaff, Linda was also the proud sister of Scott (Carolyn) Forbes and Laurie (Tom) Hosack. She was the beloved aunt of eleven nieces and nephews, their children and spouses, as well as many other extended family members and friends. Her family meant the world to her, and she often expressed that her greatest accomplishments included her daughter, Katie, and her 50 years of marriage to her late husband, Doyle Baker.

Throughout her career, Linda served as an administrative assistant and dedicated her time to volunteering, especially with the Girl Scouts. However, the roles that brought her the greatest joy was that of a mother and wife, always ready with a warm smile and an open heart. Linda's kindness, humor, and welcoming spirit made everyone feel special and comfortable, ensuring that no one left her presence without a smile.

In her free time, Linda found happiness in crafting, shopping, and traveling to various places with her daughter and family, always looking to create lasting memories. She was an avid supporter of the K-State Wildcats, passionately cheering for them and sharing her love for the team with family and friends.

Linda's journey in this life was marked by her charitable nature and her ability to uplift those around her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for her loving spirit, infectious laughter, and the countless lives she touched with her generosity.

Linda is reunited in spirit with her loving husband, Doyle Baker, and her parents, Betty and Colin Forbes, along with many other beloved extended family members and friends who preceded her in death. We honor her legacy and the beautiful imprints she has left in our hearts.

A memorial gathering will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, located at 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63005, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on June 27, 2025. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and a second memorial gathering from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the same day. Please wear comfortable clothing to celebrate Linda's life.
