Olivia Octavia Bumbac, a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her, was born on March 11, 2007, in St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this world far too soon, on February 15, 2026, in Chesterfield, Missouri. Olivia was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and cousin whose spirit shone brightly, touching the hearts of many.
Olivia was an amazing sister and a steadfast role model for her younger sister, Isabella. Their bond was filled with laughter, love, and memorable adventures that they will cherish forever. Olivia's youthful exuberance and kind spirit were infectious, and she had a natural ability to make friends wherever she went. Her bubbly personality and zest for life made her a true ray of sunshine, lighting up the lives of her family and friends.
An enthusiastic student, Olivia was a senior at Parkway Central High School, where she not only excelled academically but also athletically, and was a valued member of the lacrosse and field hockey teams. Her dedication to education led to her early graduation, and she continued her studies at Meramec Community College, with plans to take her CNA exam in March 2026. Olivia dreamed of becoming a registered nurse, driven by her passion for helping others.
Known for her adventurous spirit, Olivia loved to travel and embraced every experience with open arms. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she surrounded herself with all types of pets, including snakes, lizards, chinchillas, and parakeets. Her love for animals reflected her nurturing nature, as she treated each creature with tenderness and care.
Olivia is survived by her loving parents, Octavian and Manuela Bumbac; her cherished sister, Isabella Bumbac; her paternal grandmother, Antonia Politis; uncles Cristian (Renata) Bumbac and Constantin (Gabriela) Vancea; cousins Vlad (Daiana) Vancea, Alex Bumbac, and Filip Bumbac; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Vasile Vancea and Mioara Vancea, and her paternal grandfather, Tudor Bumbac.
A visitation to honor Olivia's memory will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, located at 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017.
