Linda Carol Bess, age 63, passed away on December 28, 2025.
Linda was born on February 12, 1962, in Yuma, Arizona to James and Viola (Myers) Laguna. She attended Central Union High School, in El Centro California, with the class of 1980. Linda met the love of her life, Mark Ziegler, in August 1988. Linda worked as a custodian at Vassar Public Schools for 22 years. Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose life centered around family and the simple joys she loved most. Linda loved to have a good time. Some of her best memories came from traveling, being outdoors camping and fishing, cooking delicious food, and watching the game show channel with her mother. She enjoyed listening to country music, watching football, and was a proud supporter at her grandchildren's sporting events, never missing a chance to cheer them on. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren that she adored so much. She will be missed dearly by so many.
She is survived by her three children, Mandy (Duane) Switzer, Matthew “Bubba” (Bridget) Bess, and Cory Ziegler; and her seven cherished grandchildren, Emily, Jaxson, Noah, Molly, Max, Claire, and Charlotte, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her mother Viola Laguna, and her two brothers Steven Laguna and Robert Neely.
She is preceded in death by her father James Laguna, sister Roberta Murff, and love of her life of 32 years Mark Ziegler.
The family is planning a celebration of Linda’s life for the spring, with details to be announced at a later date.
