Linda Sue Bodnar (nee Blankenship), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 75. Beloved wife of Stephen Lynn Bodnar; Charles E. and Dolores T. Blankenship; devoted mother of Lisa Marie (Joshua) Lay; loving grandmother of Thomas (Kendra) Kelly, Tyler Lay, Bodie Lay, and Utah Lay; loving great-grandmother of Patrick and William Kelly; dear sister of Judy Watts and Michael Blankenship; sister-in-law of Rayna (Ralph) Paul, Kevin Kost, and Scooter "Phillip" Kost. Linda was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Steve Watts.
Linda dearly loved her puppy, Bodhi, and enjoyed spoiling him, even letting him share space in her Elvis-themed room—a tribute to her deep admiration for Elvis Presley and her impressive collection of memorabilia. A fan of classic entertainment, she adored watching game shows, especially Jeopardy, and westerns, with John Wayne holding a place in her heart equal to Elvis. Linda also appreciated Native American culture and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1970. She was married to Stephen for 37 years, and their love story was so strong they got married three times. Known for being bossy with a sharp knack for telling people what to do, though she was usually right. Linda loved to talk and could chat your ear off, often speaking with her sister Judy twice a day. She was a proud member of American Legion Post 313 in St. Peters, MO, and the VFW Auxiliary Post 5077 in O'Fallon, MO. Linda was a vibrant personality, deeply loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Linda's name to United Service Organizations or Wounded Warriors.
