Linda Louise Boner was born in Corpus Christie, Texas to Wray and June M. (Kleckinger) Emrich on December 19, 1949. Her father was a career military man, and the family made homes all over the country and around the world.
Linda lived most of her adult life on her beloved farm in Frontier County, Nebraska. It was on the farm that Linda married Robert Boner on October 3, 2020. The two were together for more than 40 years.
Linda was happiest on the home place; she helped Bob with chores and upkeep every day. She loved to garden, canning and baking with many of the fruits of her labor. She spent countless hours caring for her flowers and her beloved animals. Linda cherished time spent with her family. She never passed up the chance to attend an auction or a yard sale, and she absolutely loved playing cards with family.
Linda was surrounded by her family when she passed away at her home on October 2, 2025. She was 75 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wayne Emrich.
Those left to carry on her memory include her husband, Robert “Bob” Boner of Indianola; daughters, Becky Mullen of McCook, Brenda (Joel) Chancellor of Curtis, Nebraska, and Brandi Schleeman (Vernon Norgaard) of Maywood, Nebraska; grandchildren: Michael ( Krystal) Paz, Eric (Tori) Paz, Renea (Andrew) Weaver, Anthony (Brittni) Chancellor, Vincent (Erica) Chancellor, Brady (Lisa) Chancellor, Quinten (Madyson) Chancellor, Joeseph (Jade) Chancellor, Amber (Colby) Thompson, James Hickert, Dalton (Tabetha) Hickert, Tyler Schleeman, and Zackery Schleeman; step-children, Jason (Kelly) Boner of McCook, Michelle (Andy) Schmidt, and Stacey (Ryan) Kot both of Lincoln; 25 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; brother, Wray (Pat) Emrich of South Carolina; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM on Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Terry McCorkle officiating. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook will follow services. The family requests that you please wear casual clothes.
Memorials are suggested to the family of Linda Boner for later designation. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.
