Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home on Feb. 7, 2026.
Linda Bootier, 84, of Freehold Township passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Linda was born in Trenton but was raised in Jersey City where she later lived with her husband, Edward and raised their five children. She then moved to Hazlet in 1989 before settling in the Silvermead Community in Freehold Township in 2005. Linda first worked for the Trust Company of New Jersey in Jersey City until becoming a full-time mom. She then returned to the work force, working as a medical biller, first at the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center in Jersey City and then retiring in the early 2000's from Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel.
Linda was very active in her community. She was a parishioner of St. Robert's Bellarmine Church in Freehold. Linda was a member of the Freehold Senior Center and the Silvermead Community Club. She enjoyed bus trips and attending club parties, games and events. Linda loved Halloween and horror movies. She relished her time playing Bingo, LCR, dining out and going to Atlantic City. Listening and dancing to the oldies, Barbara Streisand, and Donna Summer was always a pastime, but nothing compared to doo wop music. Cruising is something Linda always enjoyed with her husband by her side. She loved visiting different islands and enjoying the amenities on the cruise ships. Linda traveled many times to Disney with her children and grandchildren. Nothing compared to the time she spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being called a wife, mommy and grandma/gram meant so much to her.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, Edward Bootier; siblings, Edwin James and Robert James. She is survived by five daughters, Nancy D'Amato of Freehold, Christine Valentino and her husband, Gary of Sayreville, Linda Rivera and her husband, Richard of Hazlet, Lisa Arroyo and her husband, Steve of Seminole, FL and Cheryl Bootier and her husband, John Dapiran of Island Heights; many grandchildren, Kimberly D'Amato and her husband, Freddy Albarran, Mitchell D'Amato, Drew Valentino and his wife, Morgan, Tyler Valentino, Elizabeth Rivera, Sarah Arroyo and her fiancé, Kellie Smith, Steven Arroyo, Laura Gallas, Megan Gallas, Matthew Dapiran, Paige Dapiran, Zachary Dapiran, and Joshua Dapiran; four great-grandchildren, Beau, Luca, Sawyer, and Amaya; her sisters, Patricia Heeter and Donna DiStaso and her husband, Leonard; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 3:00-6:30 PM with her funeral service to follow at 6:30 PM.
