Linda Boxer Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Linda Ann Boxer, a radiant soul whose life was defined by love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 5, 2025 at the age of 76.
Born on February 12, 1949, in Nutley, New Jersey to Salvatore and Theresa LaFerrera, Linda's early years were filled with laughter and warmth. She cherished long summers at her family's shore house, where she and her siblings, Russell and Patricia, created a treasure trove of joyful memories-playful games, mischievous pranks, and sibling stories which they would endlessly retell for life.
Linda would pursue her lifelong passion for learning at Montclair University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics followed by a Master's degree from Monmouth University. In 1971, she settled in Ocean Township, New Jersey-a place she would call home for the rest of her life-and began a remarkable 36-year career teaching Math and Algebra at Frank Antonides Middle School in West Long Branch. Her dedication to education touched countless lives, and her students often remembered her not just for her lessons and encouragement but also for her sharp wit and humor.
A devout Catholic, Linda found strength and purpose in her faith. As a parishioner of Saint Jerome's Church in West Long Branch, she was a familiar and beloved presence-especially at bake sales, where her cookies were a staple. Her faith was not just practiced but lived, evident in her quiet acts of generosity, her compassion for others, and her constant willingness to lend a helping hand.
In retirement, Linda remained intellectually curious and creatively engaged. She found joy in crafting, solving Sudoku puzzles, playing Rummikub, and diving into the latest thriller novels. But above all, her greatest joy and deepest pride came from being a mother and grandmother.
Linda's love for her children, Jennifer Reppy and Michael Boxer, was boundless and fierce. She celebrated every milestone, offered unwavering support through every challenge, and spoke of them with glowing pride to anyone who would listen. Her devotion to Jennifer and Michael was the heartbeat of her life, and the bond they shared was one of profound mutual love and devotion. She welcomed their spouses, Christopher and Tracy, with open arms and a full heart, embracing them as her own.
Linda was also a cherished grandmother to Matthew, Alexis, Harper, and Ryan, whose lives were enriched by her warmth, wisdom, and caring spirit. She leaves behind her beloved siblings, Russell LaFerrera (with his wife Joyce) and Patricia Canning (with her husband Gregory), as well as her adored niece and nephews-Erin, Sean, and Jason-and their children Luke, Harrison, and Carter.
Linda's legacy is one of love: love for her family, her faith, her students, and her community. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Her spirit lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the family she nurtured with such grace and devotion.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Saint Jerome Roman Catholic Church, of Our Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 254 Wall Street, West Long Branch, New Jersey 07764. In respect of Linda's wishes, she will be privately cremated.
